AthHalf Week 2

Week 2 of training for AthHalf is complete!

Running went pretty well last week, but I did slack a little on the cross-training. Here is what my week looked like:

Sunday: rest
Monday: it was raining, so I was lazy rest
Tuesday: rest (I know, I know... did I really need a 3rd day of rest in a row? yes!)
Wednesday: 3 miles and body works
Thursday: 3 miles, 1 mile walk
Friday: 3.5 miles
Saturday: hike with Steven and the puppy at the river
Sunday: 5 mile run, 1 mile walk

Total miles: 16.5
Wednesday's run was pretty good. I ran really fast because I was cutting it close between getting to the gym and my class starting. In the end, I was just happy to check this run off the list.

Thursday's run actually went well. I got up early and ran before work, which is actually getting a little easier to do. After I came home from the run, I grabbed Stella and a ONE Coconut Water and we went for a mile walk before I had to get ready. I cannot wait until she runs more than a mile with me.

Friday's run was not the best. My legs felt really heavy, and I didn't feel like I got into the groove of the run until over halfway through. Once I was finished I was glad to have a day off until my long run.  

Sunday's run was good. The weather was great, not too humid, but I did feel like the sun was beating down on me a majority of the time. I did a nice loop and walked a mile after I finished my 5 to cool down.

Besides running, the rest of the weekend was pretty great. We went to Piedmont Park's dog park on Saturday for about an hour. I was so excited because I have always loved to watch other peoples' dogs play here (and pick out the ones I would steal if I thought I could get away with it), and now I had the chance to take my own puppy. 

After an hour of playing, and randomly running into a good friend of mine and her dogs, Steven and I headed down the street to Woody's for lunch. I have wanted to try this place since I lived in the highlands but never had the chance in over two years.  Thanks to Scoutmob and a 50% off deal, we were happy to hit Woody's up on Saturday for some cheesesteaks. The people who worked there were great, and I loved the little resturaunt, but I honestly don't know if I can say this was the best cheesesteak I've ever had. I guess we will have to go another time to try it again!

Sunday was relaxing. I just ran, cooked, and did some crafts while Steven started his training for the AthHalf (yes, I convinced him to run 13.1 miles again...who knows if he'll actually end up doing it).

Now I am just trying to stay positive about the rest of this Monday. 

This will be my mantra today as opposed to "F You Monday"... though that has a nice ring to it also. :)
